The people of The Western Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church welcome you to our website and offer you greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Ours is a large and diverse region of the UMC, stretching from the eastern edge of Colorado to the islands of Hawaii, Guam, and Saipan in the West, and from northern-most Alaska to Arizona in the South.

We are blessed with people of many ethnic and cultural heritages, and seek to live out our vision, to be “A home for all God’s people, gathered around a table of reconciliation and transformation. As a multicultural and inclusive Jurisdiction, we seek to be engaged in the life of our communities, with confident, effective lay and clergy leadership forming disciples who live out the good news of Jesus as global citizens.” (Adopted 2004 and 2008)

The Jurisdictional Leadership Team recently committed itself to a strategic priority for the Jurisdiction: the development of new churches and new faith communities, which is complemented by the Jurisdictional theme for this quadrennium (2008-2012)—Extravagant Hospitality. It is in the spirit of extravagant hospitality that we sincerely invite you to join us in offering Christ, inviting discipleship, and transforming the world!
